This study investigates the correlation degree amongst urban waterfront green space, physical activity types and health index. The main canal greenway of Hangzhou City is selected as the research object, and the active population on the greenway is taken as the research sample. Sample data are collected through a questionnaire survey and a depth interview. A data model is established with the multiple linear regression analysis method, and the quantitative relationship amongst space, health and activity is analysed. Results indicate that green space improves the hyperglycemia, hyperlipidemia and hypertension indexes amongst people through physical activities, the health of people is greatly improved by activities on the nodes of greenways and sustained exercise can improve human physiological health more than their mental health. This study provides a way to assess the health effect of urban space and recommendations to optimise green space and other urban and rural public space typesDownloads
