Abstract

However, after several ten years, several hundred years of evolution of the traditional block, the quality of those buildings and environmental quality are greatly reduced, with the pursuit of economic benefits by social development. It leads to great changes in the functional layout and spatial form of the traditional street block, resulting in serious damage to the landscape, texture, context and space environment of the traditional block. Therefore, the macro background of profound changes in society, how to create both the historical heritage, culture and emotion, and can meet the needs of social and economic development of the space environment is the problem we should deeply research and urgent to solve. This paper focuses on the Chengdu Daci Temple, Wide and narrow alleys, Jinli and other relatively successful cases, adhering to the essence of urban renewal,widening the design ideas of traditional protection and renewal from the angle of street and lane space form. Analysis of the influence of its business model on the building of block space and function layout.It reflects our concern of traditional culture, place spirit and neighborhood activities.The purpose of this paper is to provide method basis for relevant research, to better protect Chengdu historical district and to find the basic methods and approaches for Commercial Transformation and Renewal of traditional blocks in Southwest China.
