With the recent amendment of the Act on the Promotion of the Development, Use and Diffusion of New and Renewable Energy, new buildings to be built as part of the new and renewable energy equipment obligatory installation project, including school building are required to install new and renewable energy systems. However, the lack of installation guidelines and the absence of efficient installation strategies with minimized energy andÂ
operation costs with the unique characteristics of school facilities taken into account leave much to be desired in implementing this project. Against this backdrop, this study aims to estimate the energy load of the Energy Consumption by Geothermal Heating and Cooling Systems and Building Integrated Photovoltaic Systems (BIPV) dedicated to college buildings and to analyze their economic feasibility in order to present basic information to save energy of college buildings along with ways to revitalize the use of new and renewable energy.
