Abstract

Many pollutants exist in the room, and health damage caused by the pollutants is a social problem. Recently, it has become possible to measure the emission rate of Semi-Volatile Organic Compound (SVOC) from new building materials. On the other hand, although it is possible to measure the SVOC emission rate from a new finish material, a method for measuring the SVOC emission rate at on- site is not defined. Therefore, the correlation between SVOC concentration in house dust and SVOC emission rate from building materials has not been clarified. In this study, in order to develop SVOC emission rate measurement method at on-site using micro-chamber, we conducted the basic experiment and experiments on the consistency between the micro-chamber method and the on-site measurement method. As a result, it was confirmed that fresh air was supplied to the micro-chamber with one Tenax TA pipe and it is also possible to measure the concentration of
SVOC in indoor by quantifying and qualifying the Tenax TA pipe used as a filter function. In addition, the micro-chamber method and the on-site measurement method were highly consistent. On the other hand, as DBP contamination was confirmed in the background experiment, it is necessary to solve the cause of contamination in the future.
