JAUE2012-078: STUDY ON THE INTRODUCTION EFFECT OF HIGH REFLECTANCE PAINT

Abstract

It has been recognized that the solar reflectance of roof surface coated with high reflectance paint (HRP) is reduced in a relatively short time by dirt. We continuously measure the solar reflectance of roof surface, which was coated by HRP for just 1 month. It reduced about 10% after one month. Due to continue the heat island mitigation effect and the energy saving effect, it is necessary to survey the aging of the solar reflectance under the actual situation. Therefore we measured at 6 places where coated a few years ago. It has reduced 10%-20%. However, after washed by water wiping, the solar reflectance rose again. On the other hand, we confirm that the difference of solar reflectance between corrugated roof and flat roof.
