JAUE2014-002 Study assessing the environmental performance of natural hydraulic lime

Abstract

 This study focused on natural hydraulic lime (NHL),  a traditional building material used in Europe. NHL is a recyclable natural material that is air-setting and hydraulic (i.e. it sets under water), and it has various environmental capabilities such as absorbing and releasing moisture and absorbing odors. This paper presents an evaluation of the environmental capabilities of NHL specimens. Results revealed that NHL is effective at improving indoor air quality.
