JAUE2017-105: Problems, Challenges and Routes of Urban Ventilation path Planning in the Context of Climate Change

With the rapid development of urbanization, the urban climate problems such as heat island effect, air
pollution become more and more serious, which makes the research of urban ventilation corridor gradually into
people's vision. This paper summarizes the necessity of urban ventilation path planning, compares the climatic
conditions and topography of typical cities such as Wuhan, Xi'an and Hangzhou, and analyzes its similarities and
differences in urban ventilation path planning. At the same time, this paper discusses the problems existing in the
process of urban ventilation path planning in China, such as the difference of urban characteristics for the
development of urban ventilation path planning, how to integrate the urban ventilation path planning into the
current urban planning system. Meanwhile, under the current national conditions, the author puts forward some
strategies against these problems and challenges to guide the urban development at the present stage by learning
from other foreign countries and cities planning experience.
