After the last ten years high speed development, improving the pedestrian precinct environment quality had already become one of the key challenges for the urban development. How to build a comfort urban pedestrian precinct structure has become an important problem in the urban planning and design.
This paper analyzes the characteristics of the street structure and thermal comfort through the CFD simulation. The consideration is given to the spatial form and the direction of the road. About the spatial form, we compared three cases of the distance between two relative buildings to the height of the building. About the road direction, we compared the two directions of street: E-W avenue and N-S road.
We carried out a comparative analysis for atmospheric temperature, relative humidity, wind speed and PET value in different cases. Also, we tried to present some suggestions for the corresponding planning and design of the pedestrian precinct.
