jismart2024076: Effect of Wet Surface Modification of Fly Ash on Characterization
Keywords:
Fly ash, Pozzolanic reaction, Elemental analysisAbstract
In this experiment, the surface of fly ash particles was modified by pre mixing to promote the dissolution of glassy silica (SiO2) and alumina (Al2O3), improve reactivity, and analyze and investigate various properties of fly ash particles and cement mortar made from fly ash, such as compressive strength experiments and SEM, XRD, etc. The influence of wet surface modified fly ash on the characterization of fly ash was verified. The results showed that in the observation of reaction phase morphology, different reaction phases were generated through modification even in the same ash species, and the reaction varied with the progress of the reaction. However, no correlation was found between compressive strength and SiO2 and Al2O3 content in the material age within the scope of this study. It is difficult to evaluate using EDS at the early age of low reaction rate. In addition, sufficient results cannot be obtained in the analysis before 56 days of age. Therefore, it is possible to evaluate mineral composition through powder X-ray diffraction after 56 days of high reaction rate, which can be used as a future research topic.
