With the rapid development of economy and society, people's demand for living environment is also increasing, which is not a small challenge for the protection of traditional dwellings in northeast Sichuan. This paper studies the indoor thermal environment of traditional dwellings in northeast Sichuan in winter, and selects the most representative courtyard of traditional dwellings in northeast Sichuan as the research object through field investigation. Orthogonal experiment and simulation optimization methods are mainly adopted, combining the status quo of traditional dwellings in northeast Sichuan with the local economic and technological level. On the premise of improving the indoor thermal environment and maintaining the original state of traditional dwellings to the greatest extent, different optimization strategies are proposed in terms of thermal performance optimization of external envelope structure. Building physical model was established based on building energy consumption simulation software EnergyPlus and building mapping data. An ideal air conditioning system was set up in EnergyPlus, and the optimal solution was selected by simulating annual heat load before and after renovation.
