Abstract

Energy consumption in the building industry has always been high, and how to reduce building energy 
consumption on the premise of ensuring thermal comfort has become a topic of concern in the whole industry. As the main envelope structure, the roof covers nearly one-fifth of the entire city area, generating huge heat incrementsin summer, and ventilation is considered to be an effective means to reduce building energy consumption and improve indoor thermal comfort. The results of the literature analysis show that the application of roof ventilation technology can have a positive impact on indoor thermal comfort. This paper summarizes the improvement effect of roof ventilation technology on indoor thermal comfort and building energy consumption, and discusses several factors affecting the effect of roof ventilation. The research results can provide suggestions for the improvement of roof ventilation systems in future buildings. To provide a comfortable indoor environment and reduce energy consumption
