JiSMART2022—018: A Review of Thermal Comfort Research

Abstract

In recent years, the development and utilization of thermal comfort have become a research hotspot in the field of the built environment as people pay more attention to the living environment. The goal of this study is to offer an outline of the thermal comfort research development process as well as an overview of current research. The basic concept of thermal comfort is first introduced, followed by a history of thermal comfort progress. The review also focuses on thermal comfort research in diverse contexts (both indoor and outdoor), for different genders, and the elderly, and it is discovered that there is a shortage of interdisciplinary studies in thermal comfort research by reviewing the evolution of thermal comfort.
