JiSMART2022—023: A Review Related to the Drawing Style Technique and Scheme Content Expression of Architectural Drawing in Architectural Design

Abstract

In the expression of an architectural design scheme, it needs to be described through two languages: illustration and text. Architectural drawing has been used since the beginning of architectural design as a more visual and emotionally resonant way. The techniques of architectural drawing were taught at the beginning of architectural education. But with the involvement of computers in architectural design today, the design process and the status of architectural drawing has changed. Architectural drawing has expanded from being a record of what a building will look like when it is completed, to a way of critiquing or denying the reality of the situation and expressing ideas that are beyond reality. While architectural drawings became easier to produce, the complexity of the drawings was accompanied by the emergence of meaningless elements that did not contribute to the expression of the design. For each stage of architectural expression, the most effective way of drawing should correspond to it. In this paper, we firstly explain the importance of drawing in architectural design, secondly analyze the relevance and inspiration of architectural drawing to design works, and finally analyze and evaluate the architectural forms and corresponding drawing techniques in architectural drawing.
