JiSMART2022—029: Research Trends and Hotspot Analysis of Urban Walking Comfort Based on Cite Space Software

Abstract

As one of the most organic and traditional modes of travel, walking has an inherent advantage in terms of travel cost. Under the current trend of low-carbon transportation, the status of walking in urban transportation has increased significantly. With the development of cities and the emphasis on pedestrian construction, the infrastructure of walking in cities has been improved, and people have started to pursue the spiritual and psychological comfort of walking against the background that the basic walking needs are gradually satisfied. In this paper, the research progress of Urban Walking Comfort in 10 years (from 2013-2023) was based on 210 literatures in the database of Web of Science. By using the CiteSpace visualization software, we analyzed the quantity of published papers, institutions, keywords and literature co-occurrence knowledge atlas. The results showed that: (a) The research of Urban walking comfort has received wide attention from various fields. The quantity of published papers on Urban Walking Comfort was rising year by year from 2013 to 2023.Especially, it increased significantly due to the influence of the global urban development in 2019; (b) “Urban heat island”,“Air quality”, “Street canyon” and “Pedestrian level” were the highest frequency co-occurrence keywords on research of Urban Walking Comfort in recent years; (c) Institutions and authors present multidisciplinary fields of joint research, but there was less cooperation between them.
