Abstract

In recent years, the massive emission of CO2 has triggered the greenhouse effect, and carbon reduction
represents a major measure of coping with global warming and reducing climate disasters. In this article, a technology mix of carbon reduction has been constructed for the renewal of coastal buildings of stone and
wood via the combination of traditional and modern organic technologies, with carbon reduction as the developmental goal. The major contents are as followed: (1) The article explores basic internal and external
carbon reduction strategies, and coastal traditional buildings of stone and wood and their shortcomings (2)For coastal buildings of stone and wood, three research samples were selected, and the main carbon emission sources were identified via the use of the carbon Emission-Factor Approach; (3) A system for carbon reduction technology mix, which is compatible with the regional environment, was proposed from the construction stage, operation stage, and demolition and renovation stage of buildings of stone and wood, thus providing a possibility of improving the comfort of residents in coastal areas of Zhejiang and further carbon reduction of buildings of stone and wood, as well as providing a reference for the carbon reduction renewal of other coastal buildings of stone and wood.
