In order to solve this problem, this study takes the coastal section of Qingdao as the research area. Firstly, 22 evaluation factors related to the assessment of riding environment are determined. the basic information of the rider, as well as the
importance and satisfaction of the evaluation factors were investigated through questionnaires. The analysis results used the IPA analysis method to screen out the road environmental factors that need to be prioritized to improve the residents' leisure riding activities. The results showed that most of the elements that fall within the priority improvement interval of high importance-low satisfaction are related to security. Therefore, it is necessary to pay special attention to security issues to promote the use of bicycles along the coastal roads.
