Abstract

The construction and renovating of urban parks play an important role in improving a city’s image and regulating urban microclimate. As the "central park" of Xi'an City, the Daming Palace National Heritage Park is located in the redeveloped area of the urban center, and its construction is of great significance to improve the urban microclimate which ultimately impact on comfort satisfaction by city dwellers. In this paper, with the tool of ENVI-met software, the cooling effect of Daming Palace National Heritage Park on inner and surrounding urban built-up areas was determined by measuring and simulating the urban temperature and relative humidity within the range of 500m. On this basis, the relevant urban design guidelines and planning strategies were put forward.
