For 200 years, the Leicester New Walk is the milestone of urban development, who has been protected as historical district and its cultural connotation can be summarized to two words: free roaming. The New Walk culture was formed with the construction of country roads, which are surrounded with urban because of its expansion. Therefore, for the protection of New Walk culture, measures should be taken such as keeping green lands for broadening the vision, protection of roaming space continuity and historical landscapes, maintaining the planning management measures of communal facilities etc. Because of the New Walk culture, it is necessary to consider about the orientation of urban culture and establish extensive cultural identity based on sustainable development.
