Abstract

With the rapid progress of society and the development of economic, the demand for energy in modern society has increased. It is also making people pay more attention to the security of energy, especially electric power. Based on the needs of high energy security and power supply quality in buildings, it is necessary to introduce the renewable energy and distributed energy system to establish a diversified, safe and efficient regional emergency response system, which can improve the reliability of regional power consumption. Meanwhile, it also brings new challenges to existing power grids. Virtual power plants (VPPs) is a remarkable solution for reliable supply of electricity in a power system. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the development trend of virtual power plants and discuss application prospects in China.
