jismart2020003: Simulation of the Micro Climate Influenced by Building Layout on Campus: A Case Study---The Campus of Qingdao University of Technology

Abstract

Micro climate is essential to people’s outdoor activities, especially on campus. Through analyzing the campus of Qingdao University of Technology, using the 3D prognostic calculation software Envi-met, air temperature and wind speed 2D map are extracted. Three main types of squares are divided from the campus, representing different building layouts. As a result, it is clear that three sides enclosed space is better than four sides enclosed space, and tunnels with a width larger than 20m can allow air to flow through with mild wind speed, which is recommended in the campus building layout design.
