Abstract

Building morphology parameters exert an important impact on wind environment of dwelling districts. Quantifying the relationship between building shape parameters and wind environment can contribute to improving the overall environment of dwelling districts. Choosing Dongxin Lane in Xi'an, Northwest China as the research object, this paper selects four factors, namely, building enclosure, aspect ratio, average height and height fall from the building morphology parameters to simulate the correlation relationship among four factors and wind environment by using ENVI-met platform, and establishes mathematical model. The results show that the aspect ratio of buildings influences the most on the wind environment and it has a positive correlation with average wind speed ratio. The prediction model will provide meaningful reference for optimizing and transforming wind environment of dwelling districts in future.
