jismart2020038: A Review on Enhancement of Heat Transfer in Latent Heat Storage Systems

This paper presents the latest research progress on the main types of thermal energy storage (TES) systems and various heat transfer enhancement technologies in latent heat storage (LHTES) systems. Thermal energy storage systems are divided into Thermo-chemical Heat Storage (TCHS), Sensible Heat Storage (SHS) and Latent Heat Storage (LHS), among which the latent heat system has better thermal performance. The LHTES system mainly uses phase change materials as energy storage media, so this article will introduce them in detail. Finally, this article reviews the commonly used thermal conductivity enhancement techniques involved in enhancing heat transfer, including the use of High thermal conductivity nano additive, porousmaterials/foams, multiple PCMs (cascaded), heat pipe, and fins.
