Abstract

It is important topic to acquire understanding of how and what extent the indoor thermal environment affects the working or learning performance. Previous research evidenced that indoor thermal comfort had a great impact on the people work efficiency. This article reviewed the founding of previous research regarding the correlation between built indoor environment and work efficiency. Up to date, the evaluation of indoor thermal comfort environment genereally from the individual thermal comfort preference, such as Predicted Mean Vote (PMV) indicator. Here, we introduced the recent application of Electroencephalogram (EEG) approach in reveling the detailed impact of environment on working or learning performance. In addition, there still leaves space to explain and evaluate the impact of indoor temperature change on study performance by measured physiological response value. Therefore, investigation of how the thermal comfort environment influence college students’ learning performance provides a better insight on acceptable classroom temperature.
