Abstract

With the wide development of distributed energy system, a large number of energy consumers turned into energy prosumers who can both produce energy and consume energy. In order to raise renewable local self-consumption ratio, save energy cost of end users and maximize social benefits, P2P energy trading is attracting attention by allowing end-users to trade excess energy production. It also created more opportunities for variable renewable energy integration that facilitate the transition towards a low-carbon energy system. This paper gives a comprehensive overview of development of P2P energy trading existing research, main conclusions are summarized as follows: in terms of battery storage, the relationship between the capacity of the battery storage system and the load balance of the community still needs to be studied. For trading platforms, it is facing a difficult problem to ensure the privacy and security of users. Taking into account the price of P2P energy, with the popularization of renewable energy, renewable energy retailers sell energy at lower prices which will have a certain impact on the price and enthusiasm of P2P energy trading. In the distribution network, the complex distribution network structure is also one of the directions for the future improvement.
