jismart2020047: Embodiment and Application of "Passive Design" in Traditional Dwellings Ventilation Systems
Keywords:
traditional dwellings, ventilation systems, passive designAbstract
As the building stock continues to grow, the energy consumption of buildings continues to rise. Looking back at the history of human societies, most traditional dwellings have been able to achieve a ventilated and comfortable living environment without consuming too much active energy. This implies the concept of "passive design" of ventilation systems, which is important for modern housing design. The development of the passive house is similar to this, as it adapts to climatic characteristics and natural conditions to provide a comfortable indoor environment with less energy consumption. This paper extracts and compares the concept of "passive design" and ecological adaptation strategies in the ventilation system of traditional dwellings, considers the aspects of its application in modern residential design. Thus summarises the corresponding design methods of natural ventilation systems for different types of dwellings, with a view to saving energy, passing on historical culture and developing passive architecture with local characteristics.
