This study aims to investigate the occupant’s behavioral change during the ‘Work from Home’ (WFH) or ‘Stay at Home’ or ‘Lockdown’ movement in face of COVID-19 pandemic. We have investigated the occupant’s behavior change during the WFH in some cities of Indonesia. It is predicted that the energy use demand in residential sector is increasing due to longer in-home period. On the other hand, the citizen mobility is predicted to decrease due to the lockdown. For that reason, the survey was conducted during the mid of April to the end of September 2020 when the number of Covid-19 infection has rapidly increased in Indonesia through the web-based questionnaires which is targeting the individual and families. First, the data collected are summarized includes of the building characteristics, family structures, home appliances, and lifestyle. Secondly, to grasp the change on energy use, we summarized the results about the lifestyle change related to home energy use during the period of WFH. Finally, the results of this survey are discussed to develop the idea of how the future city should be, in the viewpoint of sustainability, design, and system information. Regarding the Post-pandemic, it is predicted that the New Normal and people’s way of working will affect the future city development.
