Abstract

The design scale of the sewage treatment plant in Dalian Development Zone was 80000 m3/d. The original treatment process is the A/O process and the discharge water quality complies with the secondary standard of Integrated Wastewater Discharge Standard (GB8978-1996) in China. The plant was upgraded according to the requirements of the latest local standards in Liaoning Province, and the transformation scheme adopted the process of pretreatment + improved A2/O biological nitrogen and phosphorus removal + flocculation sedimentation filtration + ultraviolet disinfection. The treatment process, design and operation of this process are introduced in this paper. The operation results show that the drainage quality of the plant stably meets the first-class A standard of Discharge Standard of Pollutants for Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plant (GB18918-2002) in China.
