With the rapid development of China’s economy, people’s lifestyles are undergoing dramatic changes. Generally speaking, indoor environmental problems are caused by the qua ity of indoor air. Indoor air pollution is a result of introducing pollution sources that release harmful substances into indoor spaces or due to poor ventilation, leading to an increase in both the quantity and variety of harmful substances in indoor air, which can cause a series of discomfort symptoms for people. Although new technologies have improved the comfort of people’s lives, the immature manufacturing technology and uneven quality in the market have also contributed to the deterioration of indoor environments. The purpose of this article is to provide a comprehensive overview of the sources and classification of mainstream indoor air pollutants, as well as popular control methods, with the aim of providing meaningful references for future research on the control of indoor air pollutants.
