With the support of ENVI and GIS technology, the remote sensing data of TM, ETM+ and OLI in 1992, 2006, 2009, 2013, 2017 and 2019 were analyzed. The vegetation coverage of Xinjin District, Chengdu, as a park city, was calculated by Dimidiate Pixel Model and Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), and five different coverage levels were divided. Based on the spatial distribution feature of coverage levels, the changes in vegetation coverage in Xinjin District were compared and analyzed, and the development and changes of vegetation in Xinjin District on the road to sustainable construction of a park city were explored using a multivariate data method. The results show that the vegetation coverage in Xinjin District showed a rapid downward trend between 1992 and 2009, and the decline slowed down from 2009 to 2019, gradually stabilizing. It can be seen that in the process of developing a park city in Xinjin District, agricultural and forestry land, various wetlands and green spaces have been effectively protected and developed, which has promoted the favorable implementation of the sustainable development strategy and built a template for sustainable development and renewal of the park city.
