Keywords:

Biophilic urbanism integrates natural elements into urban structures to create resilient and sustainable cities. Climate change in Indonesia presents a significant challenge for urban centers, demanding climate resilience strategies tailored to local conditions. This paper aims to explore biophilic urbanism approaches for tropical coastal urban areas, especially corridors. The objective is to identify strategies and principles that have the potential to improve the microclimate in the design of coastal cities. The study used a literature review methodology, examining natural and technical solutions within the principles of biophilic design and biophilic urbanism. This approach involves analyzing relevant academic literature to identify best practices and successful implementations. The analysis focuses on natural solutions at neighborhood and street levels. The findings indicate that several principles can be implemented, including the development of parks, gardens, streetscapes, edible landscapes, low-impact development, and the integration of water channels and fountains to contribute significantly to microclimates and overall urban resilience.
