Abstract

The outdoor environment is closely related to the outdoor behavior of older people. In outdoor activity spaces, the comfort level of the thermal environment is a key factor that influences the use of outdoor activity spaces and attracts older people to outdoor activities. In this paper, from the perspective of elderly behavior and thermal comfort theory, measures such as adding water bodies and trees to the square are taken to increase the enclosure. The ENVI-met simulation software was used to create a model to simulate the thermal environment of the square before and after the change under typical weather conditions, and to analyses the degree of change and improvement of the thermal and humid environment. The outdoor simulation results show that after optimization, the temperature difference throughout the day is between -1.60℃ and 1.69℃ compared to the original model. The best temperature reduction effect was achieved at 14:00, which was 0.64~1.60℃. Compared to the temperature reduction effect, the humidity increase effect is not obvious.
