jismart2024056: Traditional Knowledge Associated with Biodiversity Maps of the Yellow River Basin (Wenshui Section)
Keywords:
Yellow River Basin, Traditional Knowledge relating to Biological Diversity, Knowledge MappingAbstract
The Yellow River Basin is an important accumulation area of the history and culture of the Chinese nation for thousands of years, a multi-ethnic settlement area, and a key conservation area for biodiversity. The watershed is a geographical and ecological area nurtured by the water system, which has a more typical network scale spatial stratification than the independent landscape units such as cities and villages. The construction of a traditional knowledge map combining biology and culture in the watershed perspective can clarify the current gap in the protection of biodiversity in the watershed. Therefore, this study takes the Yellow River Basin (Wenshui Section) as an example, starts from the perspective of bioculture, conducts in-depth excavation, systematic classification and cataloguing of Traditional Knowledge, analyses the spatial distribution of Traditional Knowledge in the watershed and its characteristics, and constructs the ‘Knowledge Points - Knowledge Chains - Knowledge Sets’ of Traditional Knowledge relating to Biological Diversity on the basis of the mapping system, so as to innovate the traditional knowledge system for biological diversity. On the basis of this, a ‘knowledge point-knowledge chain-knowledge set’ traditional knowledge of biodiversity will be constructed, so as to innovate the content and methodology of the traditional knowledge system of biodiversity, with a view to providing theoretical support for the protection, inheritance and rational utilisation of the biology and culture of the Yellow River Basin (Wenshui section).
