jismart2024088: System Analysis and Optimization Recommendations for Humidity Control Issues in the HVAC System of a Healthcare Building in Shenzhen

Air conditioning system, Indoor air quality, Humidity controlAbstract
In a healthcare building project in Shenzhen, noticeable mold and condensation have appeared on the ceilings, particularly in the ward and corridor areas. Investigations indicate that these issues are mainly due to high indoor relative humidity and multiple failures within the air conditioning system. These failures include the inability of the fresh air system to properly supply fresh air, insufficient building airtightness, damaged insulation on ducts and pipes, improper airflow organization in the air conditioning system, unstable supply water temperature from the chiller unit, and excessively high inlet air temperature of the cooling tower. To address these problems, a series of improvement measures have been proposed: repairing the fresh air system, reducing indoor window ventilation, improving building sealing, adjusting the direction of air conditioning airflow, repairing insulation materials, stabilizing the supply water temperature of the chiller unit, and optimizing the operating conditions of the cooling tower. These measures aim to enhance indoor air quality in healthcare buildings and ensure the durability and safety of building materials. This study provides important references for the design and management of air conditioning systems in healthcare buildings under similar climatic conditions.
