Abstract

Coastal historic urban areas with unique resource endowment have become a tourist destination attracting a large number of leisure population, who becomes one of the main driving forces for the revitalization of historic cities. In this paper, Qingdao historic urban areas as the research object, based on mobile phone signaling data, using ArcGIS spatial analysis and multiple regression analysis method, from a resource endowment perspective, analyse characteristics and explore the internal mechanism of spatial and temporal distribution of the leisurepopulation. The study found that there was a typical heterogeneity in the spatial and temporal distribution of leisure population in Qingdao. In terms of time, the total amount of leisure population was significantly different between the tourism peak period and the ordinary weekend in the conventional tourism season, and the total flow fluctuated significantly in different periods of a single day. In space, the leisure population shows a high-densityaggregation trend along the south coast, particularly in historic blocks and near major transport and commercial facilities. The heterogeneity is closely related to the resource endowments. This study has reference value for the optimal allocation of urban resources and the guidance strategy of leisure population in similar areas.
