Abstract

The thermal environment of university dormitories has an important impact on students' physical and mental health. In order to improve summer indoor thermal comfort of dormitories, this paper conducted the field measurement and the questionnaire survey on representative university dormitories in Tianjin. The current situation of summer thermal environment and students' demand characteristics of indoor thermal environment in dormitories of universities in Tianjin were grasped. The indoor thermal neutral temperature and thermal comfort temperature interval based on ET* were established. The results showed that the summer indoor temperature of university dormitories was high. The measured thermoneutral temperature was lower than the predicted thermoneutral temperature, which indicated that the thermal resistance of students was poor. The measured thermal neutral temperature based on the physiological, psychological and behavioral characteristics of students was 25.33℃, and the thermal comfort temperature range was 22.87℃-27.79℃. This study can provide theoretical basis and data support for the creation of thermal environment in university dormitories in Tianjin, and enrich the study of indoor thermal environment in university buildings in cold regions.
