This article examined the challenges and responsibilities of architects in the context of environmental sustainability. It discusses the impact of technological advancements on urban development and the need for architects to balance innovation with environmental responsibility. The author critiqued the trend of excessive formalism in contemporary architecture and advocates for a return to simplicity and sustainability, drawing on traditional Chinese values of harmony with nature. It also explored the potential of modular and prefabricated construction to reduce waste and carbon emissions.
