Mr. Luo Deqi has been engaged in design and management work for 50 years. He formerly served as President (and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee) and Chief Architect of the Guizhou Provincial Architectural Design and Research Institute. He holds titles such as Master of Chinese Vernacular Architecture, Guizhou Province Survey and Design Master, and Professor-level Senior Architect. Mr. Luo has been recognized as a "National Outstanding Expert with Significant Contributions among Young and Middle-aged Professionals" and is a recipient of the "State Council Special Government Allowance." He has also been honored with titles such as "National Excellent Survey and Design Institute President," "National Advanced Individual in Construction Innovation," "Model Worker of the Ministry of Construction," recipient of the Provincial "May Day Medal," and one of the first "Provincial Key Experts." Additionally, he was selected as a "Distinguished Figure in China's Architectural Design Industry" on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. The interview was initiated by Professor Wang Xingtián, Vice President of the World Chinese Architects Association, and conducted through written communication. It focused on the development of Chinese vernacular architecture, reflections on the architectural cultures of China and the West, and Mr. Luo's connections with the Association.
