Abstract

The 2021 World Chinese Architects Association (WACA) Conference and Academic Forum, themed "City and Future, Green and Design," was held in Qingdao, China, from October 15 to 17, 2021. Organized by WACA, the event was co-hosted by Qingdao University of Technology and Tengyuan Design Consultants Co., Ltd., with support from several universities and media outlets. The forum attracted over 500 participants, including renowned architects, scholars, and students. The event featured keynote speeches and discussions on sustainable design, urban development, and architectural heritage. Notable speakers included Pritzker Prize winner Kazuyo Sejima. The conference also included an exhibition of architectural designs and a series of workshops. The event aimed to promote sustainable practices and foster international collaboration among Chinese architects. It concluded with a call for continued efforts to advance architectural education and practice globally.
