The success of rural revitalization is closely related to architecture, especially the intricate relationship between building layouts and operational modes, in which the architect's leading role in design and operational strategies is crucial. Most architects give more consideration to spatial effects when designing, and less consideration to operations. And Few architects operate projects directly. By considering enough operational elements in the design process, there will be fewer changes in the later utilization process, and a plan with more operational flexibility can reduce operational costs. This study combines in-depth interviews and field research methods to provide deep analysis in operation by analyzing the case of an architect-operated, summarize current practical experience, make relevant recommendations for the operation, and provide valuable reference for similar projects. This paper provides insightful perspectives on the integration of architectural design and sustainable operation in future rural revitalization projects through an in-depth analysis of the role of rural buildings and the close connection between functional design and operation.
