Abstract

Urban blue-green infrastructure (UBGI) comprises water bodies and green vegetation. In summer, its cooling effect on the surrounding environment can effectively mitigate the urban heat island and improve the quality of the urban microclimate. To reveal the thermal comfort benchmarks of people using UBGI in the summer, this study conducted a questionnaire survey on the thermal comfort feelings of people using the four UBGI spaces. The results showed that when designing or evaluating outdoor thermal environments of UBGI, the basic information of the people using UBGI space, such as gender, age, and other factors, should be considered. Their thermal demand characteristics in UBGI space needed to be explicitly revealed, such as clothing thermal resistance, activity level, and thermal adaptations. In addition, people had a strong adaptability to the hot season. In this study, the summer thermal sensation evaluation model of UBGI users was established, and the thermal sensation evaluation benchmark based on human physiological, psychological, and behavioral habits was obtained. This study provides the theoretical basis and data support for the research of thermal environment improvement technology and evaluation of UBGI outdoor public space, so as to realize the breakthrough and innovation of outdoor thermal environment enhancement of UBGI space.
