JAUE2020-019: The Space Research of Rural Settlement Based on Environment-Behavior Studies

Abstract

The traditional dwellings in Liyuanba Village, Tongjiang County, Bazhong City, with big roof, small patio, and wide corridor, are the typical representatives of residential dwellings in northeast Sichuan Province, which has the unique natural and cultural environment characteristics, work style, and life habits. This paper is aiming to explore the relationship between psychology and behavior of the users in the traditional settlement space in Liyuanba Village, reveal the characteristics and rules of settlement space. Under the mutual restriction and influence of environment, demands, and behavior with development of times, the article also trying to find the practical problems faced by traditional villages, design the protection strategy for the traditional dwellings on the users’ dimensions, provide the theoretical support for the protection of traditional villages and the improvement of living environment in Liyuanba Village.
