Abstract

After the COVID-19 pandemic, in China, the street-stall is of great significance to suppress the spread of the virus indoors and maintain employment stability, which makes the street-stall a rigid demand. From the operation of the street-stall in the urban space in the past, the first thing to be solved is how to embed the street-stall in the pedestrian area. It is found that the embedding method of the street-stall space in Qiaoxizhijie has a positive impact on the street space. This article looks at the street-stall space of Qiaoxizhijie from the perspectives of constituent elements, individual space and overall space, and extracts the embedding features of street-stall space from three aspects: space defining elements, space carrier types and spatial interface composition. It is concluded that the street-stall space of Qiaoxizhijie adopts two types of elements to define the semi-staying space carrier and the staying space carrier with various open degrees. And affected by the street and waterfront space, two types of discontinuous space interface are formed. This embedding method and characteristics provide ideas and references for the embedding of the street-stall in existing historical pedestrian streets in the future.
