Abstract

Previous studies examined the effect of renovation in general detached houses using the IBEC standard house model and quantified the degree of influence of each part on the heating load by multiple regression analysis. This research uses a house model, which was built in 1952 and is a prototype of a small house. Numerical simulations were carried out using the "Minimum House" designed by Makoto Masuzawa as a model, and the energy-saving effect and the degree of effect on the heating load of each part were clarified. The results showed the degree of influence on the heating load arranged in descending order is as follows: window’s heat transmission coefficient > solar radiation transmittance > heater’s set temperature > outer wall’s heat transmission coefficient. Therefore, when designing a detached house with a building area of about 30 m2 and a volume of about 150 m3, which is modeled after the minimal house model, it is efficient to focus on window performance.
