Increasing the proportion of renewable energy applications has been a key component of the decarbonization of the energy structure in Chinese energy and climate strategy. The multi-energy coupling and complementary clean heating system adopts the cogeneration power plant back pressure machine as the main heat source, and multiple new energy sources assume peak load and expand the heating capacity of the municipal pipe network. This paper summarizes the research and development of multi-energy complementary clean heating technology, expounds the development status of multiple clean energy sources, and summarizes the current research results of economic performance analysis and system matching optimization of multi-energy complementary heating technology. Through analysis, it can be known that the modeling technology of TRNSYS and MATLAB software for multi-energy complementary simulation has gradually matured, but there is no specific practical application yet. At the same time, the intelligent heating that automatically matches the output based on the changing energy load has not been fully realized, which may become the main research direction in the future.
