The issues related to climate change such as depletion of energy resources and continuous high oil prices, global warming, development of clean energy are adopted and discussed as a national agenda internationally. Korea established "Low Carbon and Green Growth" as a basic law and participated in international efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions such as announcing goal of reducing greenhouse gas. Especially, combustible-wastes are major cause of greenhouse gas emissions because of disposing mainly landfill or incineration. In order to manage effectively, we have been studied about estimating and predicting amount of waste precisely. However, significant portion of combustible-waste in the standard plastic garbage bags are recyclable resource. Thus this study carries out an analysis of quantity of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) through the survey. This investigation is set to an apartment housing occupies the highest share. To achieve this, wastes are divided into recyclable and non-recyclable within the standard plastic garbage bags and designed waste separation scenario to estimate an amount of waste and greenhouse gas' reduction rate. The purpose of this study is suggesting the best way to reduce MSW and greenhouse gas as improving awareness for the recycling MSW actively.
