Abstract

Recently, the forest in Japan has entered a period of cutting. But Timber self-sufficiency rate in Japan is lower, that is 27.8%. In this study, I aimed to re-evaluate the usefulness of the timber, for example Cedar lumber and Wood intensive house. Moreover, energy conservation in houses is promoted in Japan. However, the method to control the indoor thermal environment by the use of natural material instead of air conditioning is still under study. In this study, we measure Y house to understand the environment of wood-intensive house. Also, using heat load calculation programs THERB and SCHEDULE ver.2, we verify the effects on energy conservation and indoor environment in standard housing model of achitectural institute, depending on the amount of wood used in its interior surface. The simulation results showed improvement on PMV, by increase of wood usage.
