During the urbanization process of China, the built-up areas of coastal cities have expanded rapidly. The
harmonious color relationship of the historic buildings and modern buildings could enhance the visual comfort. A
case study in Qingdao Zhongshan Street was conducted to measure the historic street color using Baidu Street
View (BSV) panoramas, which effective solved sample collection for urban areas. In this study, the historic street
color of 1 kilometer was researched. The questionnaire of streetscape color quality(SCQ) was used to collect
relevant data.Meanwhile, we apply the way of standardized data collation in order to evaluate color quality,
current situation and problems of historic street color. This study contributes to promoting the color planning or
management of coastal cities, which provides suggestions for urban renewal and urban planning.
