Azekura-zukuri, which has a long history in Japan, is a construction method in which dense wood is piled up
horizontally in different directions. This method is effective in terms of thermal environment when considering
various types of architecture, and depending on the location and use, it may become one of the new options for
modern architecture. We hypothesized that the Azekura-zukuri architectural style would have been effective in
maintaining a favorable environment for preserving treasures in Japan's hot and humid climate. Here, we show the
results of actual measurements to prove this hypothesis.
