Abstract

Modern virtual technologies such as Virtual Reality, as an artistic technology that superimposes information into the real world, have begun to influence the changes in our lives, buildings and cities in recent years. This article draws on the immersive Virtual Reality technology using in the exhibition of the Wellington Museum, and takes the city of Kitakyushu in Japan as an example. It selects four distinctive locations for virtual city revitalization and design. Enable people to get better experience and evaluate new buildings, increase the sense of participation of the masses, and attract more attention. At the same time, it will also help solve the problems of population loss and shrinkage in Kitakyushu, and declined GDP. It is hoped that on this basis, there will be some enlightenment for how virtual reality technology can change modern cities.
