During the process of expanding urban area, establishing urban landmarks and constructing skyscrapers are the
common phenomenon for Chinese modern cities. Under this urban construction conception, almost every city in China establishes skyscraper as landmarks. But now, there is no Chinese city assessing the value and the risk of skyscraper construction.
Japan is one of the pioneering countries in the development of high-rise buildings in Asia. Today, high-rise buildings in Japan no longer blindly pursue high, but more and more attention on spatial organization and the relationship with urban environment. At the same time it pursues the perfection of functions, technology, comfort, security, and the sustainable development in the long-term.
Thus this thesis compares and analyzes the different developing process and design concept between China and Japan, analyzes Japanese experience and lessons in the high-rise building construction, thus gets the beneficial enlightenment and adaptive reference for China.
